Living the dream

Hasn't every little girl wanted to design and make up her own jewellery? It's a dream most of us share. I got the opportunity to live my dream 10 years ago. Of course I knew nothing about the where or how and was flying by the seat of my pants. Some beautiful pieces were produced by a local jeweller with my designs , but what I really wanted was to get in right at the start and to control all parts of what would be my dream come true.

While going through a nasty divorce I got the opportunity to spend some of my husband's money and take over a small jewellery firm . How exciting, then came the surprises . I knew nothing . And living in a town in Zimbabwe, Africa there was nowhere to find any information or any help. So, working with the two local men who came with the firm we learnt by trial and error and copious amounts of Google time to build up to my little jewellery business.

My dream is to bring the energy of the various gemstones, with the power in the different metals  in beautiful pieces of jewellery to the New Age community. The mines in the area are believed to be the very area that the Ancients ( Read Ancient Aliens) mined gold. Silver and copper are by products of the gold mining process. They carry the imprint of these Beings and this makes these local metal extra special to those in the know. Our products also carry the power of the moon. Silver is the metal most associated with the moon. It is very important for us to produce specific items at different phases of the moon. This make the pieces specific to the client. My biggest dream and desire is to show how Africa can produce beautiful inspiring jewellery and healing tools that hold up against those available from the first world. Hand made is still desirable and have the energy of the creator directly in contact with the stones and the piece of jewellery, lending it that special extra something.

A very large part of my dream is to bring Hand Made African jewellery to the rest of the world, to move away from the clichéd curios and allow people to see Africa in a new light.

I knew I needed to share the Divine tools with the spiritual Beings and Kemetic churches who needed and would enjoy them. I have opened an Etsy shop www.etsy.com/shop/ilarian . It has been an exciting time and so many akhs and other precious pieces have found their way all over the world. It is such a privilege to share.
